Legal Counsel | Tax Director
Complex Tax. Strategic Impact. Great People.
As a legal counsel at Telenor ASA, you will join our Group Tax team and become a key contributor to the Group Finance function. Telenor Group consists of the business areas Telenor Nordics, Telenor Asia, Telenor Infrastructure and Telenor Amp. Group Tax supports all Telenor companies with strategic and operational tax advice. In this role, you will have considerable impact and interact with stakeholders at various levels across the organization to drive and oversee key tax matters.
You will be part of a highly skilled and professional team known for strong ethics, deep technical expertise, and genuine collaboration. Group Tax works proactively to manage tax risk across the Telenor Group and provides advice on capital and legal structuring, reorganizations, M&A, transfer pricing, tax audits, tax disputes, and more. You will report to the SVP, Head of Group Tax in Telenor ASA.
As part of Group Tax at Telenor, we dare say you’ll grow both professionally and personally as a tax advisor — and have a genuinely good time along the way.
By joining our team, you will:
Deliver high‑quality tax advice in complex and exciting matters across a wide range of areas, including cross‑border transactions, capital structuring, restructuring projects, M&A activities, product development, international tax, and more.
Gain deep business insight that enables you to give practical, relevant, and implementable advice. As an in‑house lawyer, you’ll be regarded as a true business partner by our businesses and leadership teams — your advice will be valued, trusted, and acted upon.
Contribute to shaping Telenor’s strategic approach to tax risk. We are modernizing how we work, and you will play an active role in developing both our tax practice and your own expertise to meet tomorrow’s demands.
Help elevate our Pillar II capabilities. We’ve implemented Pillar II in our ERP system, and the next step is embedding this expertise into all our advisory work. It’s a complex, dynamic, and highly relevant area — and we look forward to seeing you help take this work even further.
Sharpen your advocacy skills when tax authorities challenge our conclusions. You’ll contribute to tax dispute strategies and work on both administrative processes and court proceedings.
Work independently — but never alone. We pride ourselves on a unique professional environment and unusually strong team spirit. The combination of deep knowledge, modern ways of working, and warm collaboration is something we genuinely care about.
Who we are looking for
To thrive and enjoy this role, we believe you bring a positive mindset and an openness to people and new ideas. We place strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, and you will be balancing multiple tasks and shifting priorities while delivering high‑quality work. To excel in this environment, you will likely benefit from being proactive, analytical, and self‑driven. All employees in Group Tax are known for their integrity and motivation — and we expect the same from you.
